그동안 잘 지내셨습니까?
사무국에서는 5월 30일 서울대학교에서 개최되는 국제학술대회 준비관계로 바쁘게 보내고 있습니다. 주제 발표자로 세계적인 석학인 UCLA의 Karmarkar 교수님과 금융서비스, 의료서비스 그리고 물류서비스 및 ICT 세션 별로 해외 주요 연구자를 한 분씩 모셔(금융서비스: 보스톤 대학의 Xue 교수, 의료서비스: 북 텍사스 대학의 O'Neili 교수 그리고 물류서비스 및 ICT: 싱가폴 난양대학의 Piplani 교수) 오전 세션 구성을 완료하였습니다.

그리고 오후 세션도 모든 것이 영어로 진행되는 금융서비스 세션, 의료서비스 세션, 물류서비스 및 ICT 세션과 중소기업진흥공단에서 지원하는 한국어로 진행되는 세션으로 구성되어 있습니다. 각 세션은 2시에서 4시 30분까지지 5-6개의 발표로 구성되어 있습니다. 바쁘신 와중에도 영어 또는 한국어로 발표하기로 해 주신 본 학회의 회원분들께 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 드립니다. 여러분이 참고하실 수 있도록 아래와 같이 현재 제작의뢰한 팜플렛 초안의 내용을 삽입하였습니다.

영어로 발표하는 오후 세 세션의 원활한 논문 모집을 위해 저와 학술위원장이신 이창원 교수님이 관여하는 INFORMS KOREA와 공동으로 학술대회를 개최하게 되었고 따라서 오후에 발표되는 영어 논문 모두를 순조롭게 모았습니다.

그리고 해외에서 오시는 주제 발표자를 포함하여 오전의 주요발표자분들께는 항공료와 숙박료 및 체재비를 지원하는 관계로 비용이 많이 듭니다. 사무국에서는 이 비용의 일부를 충당하고자 사전등록하신 분에 한해 4만원을 그리고 현장에서 등록하신 분께는 10만원을 받기로 결정하였습니다. 사전등록을 미리 받는 이유는 특히 이날 리셉션 준비를 위해 참석인원을 어느 정도 정확히 파악할 필요가 있기 때문입니다. (계약을 하면 실제 참석인원 수에 관계없이 원 계약인원 수대로 비용을 지불해야 할 상황이 발생합니다.) 그러나 지난 4월의 생산성혁신연구회 모임에서 이 금액을 부담스러워 하시는 분이 있다는 말씀을 듣고 사전등록하시는 경우에 한해 참가비 40,000원을 학회에서 부담하기로 했습니다. 그러니 사전등록을 5월 15일까지(원래는 5월 10일까지이나 5일 더 연장하였습니다) 꼭 해 주시고 참가비 걱정 없이 모든 분을 행사당일 뵈었으면 합니다. 저에게 이메일로 간단하게 참석의사 표시를 알려주시는 경우 사전등록으로 간주하겠습니다.

Korea Productivity Association (KPA) and INFORMS Korea Chapter (KINFORMS) host the KPA & KINFORMS 2009 International Conference, "New Challenges in Service Productivity and Innovation". KPA has built a reputation in productivity studies since 1985 in Korea. KINFORMS is an active INFORMS chapter specialized in Korean business studies. KPA and KINFORMS together raise issues on service productivity and innovation under rapidly changing environment toward service economy. Industry sectors of financial service, health care service and logistics service & ICT are covered in depth. Conference organizing committee expresses heartful welcome to all participants.
